December 04, 2007 Ang Lee's new film, an espionage thriller set in WWII-era Shanghai. Tony Leung stars as Mr. Yee, a powerful political figure in 1940s Shanghai. Tang Wei, makes her feature film debut as Wang Jiazhi, a young woman who gets swept up in a dangerous game of emotional intrigue with Mr. Yee. October 26, 2007 As Chinese, eating is very important part in our life and culture, and it never changes even if we are now in Madrid. This hot-pot place is very well known in Chinese community and almost every one of us has been there at least once (well, I basically go there once per month:p) This video was our gathering with IE's new Asian intakes and exchange students. A pity not every one of us was there, but just show you some IE faces :p This was my first time, maybe also the last time to actually "see" the bull fight. For me, the fight was too much, even if it is considered as art, in terms of the move, the power and the wisdom of our human beings (as most of us think so) woven into the whole performance. But here you will only see the pre-fight performance which was nice... October 22, 2007 Have a look at this BUSINESS EDUCATION 2007: Empathetic business sense nurtured by disaster, a story of one of IE alumni from Financial Times Jamila Bravo Maagdalia is a EMBA student @IE Business School, before that she had been working for non-government organizations long time such as commercial adviser attached to the Spanish Embassy in Johannesburg, director of international relations for the EU's @LIS programme in European Commission. She is now director for south-east Asia at Excem, a family-owned company with diverse global interests, one of her current assignments also taps her passion for international co-operation and development. The highlight of Term 4 was watching WorldCup with classmates from over 45 countries! The heat was on particularly during the match of Argentina vs Germany, France vs Brazil. See we even had a Germany flag in the classroom that day! Though some classmates cried after their countries' defeat in the matches, we supported each other and congratulated the winning teams!
After an intensive 9 months of studies, we are all so relieved to have a 6-week summer break! We have finished 4 terms with all mandatory courses. The elective period will start in Sep with venture lab and corporate venturing (with General Electric, Madrid). Some of us will go on exchange over US, Europe and Asia and come back to Madrid for final exam and the graduation ceremony on Dec 15, 2006. Times really flies and the hard work pays off! January 17, 2006 ¿Qué pasa? When you arrive in Madrid, be prepared that you will hear this question very often. It´s the same as "What's up?" in English, usually the rely will be¨Nada¨(Nothing). Well, actually this is far from the case. Your life at IE will be FULL every single day. Multinational...as always! The current year IMBA program in IE constitutes students coming from over 50 countries and regions. We are virtually working with classmates and professors from all over the globe, and Chinese students here are absolutely minorities. We have finance guru from Kuwait, engineer from Egypt, investment-banker from Switzerland" you name it, we have it. Before last Christmas, all the girls in my class gathered to have a chicas´ dinner(girls only). Well, 14 girls coming from 13 different countries, you can imagine how eye-catching our table was! Of course, the girls´ topic is universal"by the way, we did enjoy the gossip that night... Fiestas Spaniards are well-known for their night life. This relates to the life pace of local people. We usually have class from 0900 till 1500. That is, lunch comes after class" starving? but this still matches with the normal lunch time in here (1400-1600)! Dinner time is after 2200" and then, after midnight, fiestas! You can switch from one bar to another for the whole night(I should say the whole morning).. and going home at eight o´clock is not big deal. IE has a famous club named Bar of the Week, which serves as a fantastic platform for networking. Somehow you will find another side of your classmates in the bar as compared in classroom"and you will get to know who are genuine party animals gradually. After all, don´t forget to attend the class later at 0900, and be prepared for all the assignments! Enjoy... |
